Col passare del tempo questa formula acquisisce sempre più un'accezione negativa visto il peggiorare delle condizioni sociali e visti i ripetuti fallimenti di tale modello.
Negli anni '80/'90 (ma non solo allora) a questa affermazione si associavano persone che, grazie "solo" alle proprie capacità, avevano ottenuto grandi risultati nella vita (soldi).
"L’Italia che si fa da sé" è quindi anche frutto di quegli anni, di quegli eccessi e di quei modelli ormai in crisi.
Ancora oggi quell’Italia continua a "farsi da sé" ma con gli stessi vecchi errori. Perciò oggi essa vive in una condizione di stallo, di "ossidazione".
La sagoma ossidata del Paese in cui vivo si è fatta realmente da sé, nel senso che io ho solo predisposto tutto affinché il tempo e le intemperie ci portassero, dopo sei o sette mesi, l'Autoritratto dell’Italia di oggi.
A “self-made man”, this is how I see Italy today.
In the 80’s/90’s this statement has been used for people who made sacrifices achieving good results in their life.
With the passing of time this statement has assumed a negative connotation because of the social conditions worsening and the lost of the moral models.
A "self-made Italy" is therefore also the result of those years, of those excesses and of those models which are now in crisis.
Today Italy is still self –made but with the same old mistakes.
This is the reason why it is still leaving in a stalemate, in "oxidation."
The shape of the oxidized country in which I live has really made everything by itself, in the sense that I only have prepared everything so that the time and the bad weather did "self-portrait" of the present situation.
